At Copernus we recognise that we have responsibility for the future of fishing. Therefore we feel it is vitally important that source all of our fish from a sustainable source. This is done in a few ways:
Wild Fish – All of our wild cough fish, including: Cod, Haddock, Hake and Herring is all supported by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). The MSC is a sustainability and traceability standard and says that we are approved and authorised to supply fish and fish products that are also MSC approved.
For more information on the work that MSC carry out, please visit: www.msc.org
Farmed Fish – We source all of our Salmon and Sea Bass from fish farms all over Europe. These farms are dedicated in producing the best quality fish that has full traceability from farm to plate.
We also source Salmon which is protected by the RSPCA – Royal Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. This is an animal welfare standard and says that the fish has been reared and handled in a way that is welfare friendly. We are approved as a Processor/Packer and so can apply the Logo.
